I may not have known you as well as I would have liked, however I do know you were one of the greatest and truest friends that ever walked into Ryan Joseph's life. Because of that, I am so thankful. Your kind heart, outgoing personality, and beautiful smile will live on in all your friends and loved ones now and forever ♥ thinking of everyone back home today....

For a good friend, Ryan Slater, you will be missed. I knew Ryan since the day his family moved to AuSable. I have many memories with Ryan and our mutual friends. I'd like to express my gratitude to have known him as a person by sharing this
. When I moved home from California in 2004 I had nothing and started working and living at Mels Diner, I had no car, no phone, no money, I was practicly stranded and down on myself living alone in Wilmington. Ryan and I worked together for almost 3 years and we became even closer friends in that time. He helped me out tremendously when I was at my lowest point and he didnt have to. He drove me places, let me use his phone, but most importantly he just hung out with me before and after work, he kept me in great company when I was alone and he was there for me when my brother had cancer. We would do ridiculous things at work and laugh at everything (and man did he have an appetitie!!!!) He was a great friend, had a great heart and was an amazing family man.
I have and will continue to carry you with me in my ventures and current success knowing that I wouldn't be here if you weren't there for me during my hardest times. I'm glad I was able to come home and have a few laughs with you this past week. Squeek, Squank, Ryan Slater you will be missed by many and I'll see you in the wild blue yonder.
Lastly, my heart goes out to friends and family back home and away. This has been difficult, we musn't forget we have each other and the memories we shared with him.

I would just like to say how sorry I am to Ryan's family about the loss of their loved one. I wanted to say my condolences in person but I unfortunately couldn't make the services. I am sad that I have no current memories of him but I'll never forget him as the little boy who my brother and I had many childhood memories with...I have many memories of Ryan and Krystal when we were younger and it breaks my heart to hear about this tragedy. I just want to send my love to his family and let them know they are in my heart and prayers. With Love, Shyanne
